Thermal Mud is MAGIC. On my 2nd day of being a Vermate & TM-agent – I got tested – a good test! Our Yard Owners mare, BELLA, got a gash on her bum (14 July). It looked like she got caught on something – flesh missing, whole area swollen and very warm to the touch. (She was not examined by a Vet/ Received no Stitches)

I decided – here’s my chance to prove Therma Mud’s Magic!! I’ve been using Vermate & Thermal Mud for about 2 years now, but this was My First Open Wound

I was a bit nervous (truth be told) but trusted the product. The owner didn’t know Vermate & Thermal Mud and wanted to use products she knows, but I convinced her to give me (and TM) a chance

What an outcome! Full of Smiles and a new Client (and a new horsie-friend for me).

Bella was given a double-dosage of Vermate in her food for about two weeks. (First-time for that also for the Owner and her Horsie)

Take a look at the story in pictures below.

I washed the wound twice daily with salt water, sometimes Bio Scrub.

19 July – dead skin around the wound started to fall off

23 July – the flesh / the hole started closing up – or it looked like it “surfaced”.

31 August – the wound is completely closed-up, all hair grown back.

It was like the healing was done “all in one”

The wound closed up, the hair-loss below the wound (due to the “puss” that came out) was cleared.

Taking time is never a loss. Thanx Vermate & Thermal Mud #ProudAgent

Whats the steam all about

Thermal Retention: Thermal Mud is naturally mineral-rich and holds warmth. When applied to the body (especially on a wound, swelling, or sore muscle), it maintains and slowly releases that heat.

Moisture Release: As the mud warms up against the horse’s skin and begins to dry, moisture in the mud evaporates. That’s what creates the visible “steam.”

Circulation Boost: The combination of warmth and minerals stimulates blood flow to the area, helping carry oxygen and nutrients to damaged tissue while flushing out toxins and waste products.

Why It Helps Healing

Breaks Down Dead Tissue: The warmth accelerates the process of sloughing off necrotic (dead) tissue, clearing the way for healthy granulation tissue to form.

Reduces Swelling & Pain: Heat encourages circulation and lymph drainage, which helps decrease inflammation and eases discomfort.

Speeds Up Repair: With improved blood flow, the wound or sore area gets more of what it needs for faster, stronger healing.

In Practice

When an agent or owner notices the steam rising, it is often the first visible sign that the mud is working. Horses will sometimes visibly relax as the circulation effect takes hold, showing typical signs of release such as licking, chewing, or lowering their head.
